Octavio Duran serves as the Principal Attorney at Duran Law Offices, where his unwavering commitment is dedicated to representing individuals and families across various personal injury domains, including but not limited to automobile collisions, construction negligence, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and premises liability.

While my initial career aspirations didn’t steer me towards personal injury law, my innate desire to assist people led me on this path. I contemplated a career as a public defender, but a fortuitous encounter with a personal injury law firm illuminated the significant impact I could make in this field. Working closely with my clients, I assume the roles of counselor, advisor, and confidant to provide comfort and assurance throughout the entire legal process.

My track record boasts numerous successful trials, spanning from auto accidents to medical malpractice cases, resulting in multimillion-dollar recoveries for my clients. I’ve earned recognition as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers consistently from 2014 to the present.


Before obtaining my law degree, I honed my trial skills by successfully litigating multiple misdemeanor bench trials for the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, operating under the auspices of the Illinois Supreme Court and with the endorsement of my school’s Dean. These cases encompassed a wide spectrum of charges, from battery to property damage, with victories in every instance.


Within the legal community, I actively mentor law school students through esteemed organizations such as the Chicago Bar Association, Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, and Chicago Public Schools. Additionally, I’ve fulfilled the role of Parliamentarian for the Alumni Association Board at Michigan State University College of Law.


I am a former President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Chicago Bar Association, a tenure marked by several accolades and honors, including the “Rising Star,” “Best Project,” and “Public Service” awards.


My commitment to justice extends beyond the courtroom, as I’ve spearheaded numerous fundraisers for legal aid via the Chicago Bar Foundation, raising over $30,000 annually for the past four years. These funds align with the Chicago Bar Foundation’s mission of enhancing access to justice for historically marginalized communities.


I am duly licensed to practice law in Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
